With weather and water temperatures on the rise in Destin, activity along the docks is picking up even more as we head into the summer season.

The Cobia bite is in full swing and we are seeing more and more of them brought in to the marina every day. The majority of them have been in the 30-40lb class, with the occasional 60-70-pounder being brought in as well. The bait of choice is eel, but jigs are working as well. Here’s a shot of four 30-40lb Cobia brought in by Capt. Robert Broestler aboard the Fish-in-Daze this past week.

Beyond Cobia, we’re still seeing a steady stream of Spanish mackerel, as well as jacks, various types of snapper, and quite a few sharks offshore. Inshore charters are bringing in redfish and the occasional flounder.

If you’d like to get in on the action, be sure to book a charter with one of our captains or, for the more experienced fishermen, try a fishing boat rental for the day. We also offer fishing pole and tackle rentals, and have bait and tackle for sale in our ship’s store. Contact us for more information!
