Boasting the closest deepwater access in the northern gulf, Destin lays claim to the title ‘The World’s Luckiest Fishing Village’ and has the largest and most elaborately equipped fishing fleet in the state of Florida. Where fishermen in most coastal towns must travel 30+ miles offshore to catch fish, Destin fishermen can catch a variety of species within just a few miles of the beach.

- New perspective. Boats allow you to see Destin from a whole new perspective. Explore waterways, canals, islands, sandbars, and undeveloped shores that you couldn’t see on land.
- Soak up some sun. Too much sun can be harmful, but a little bit of sun can put some color in your cheeks and give you a little Vitamin D to boost your spirits. It’s true! Studies show exposure to sunlight helps to fight depression.
- The food. Yes, really! There are plenty of places to eat while you’re on the water. From fresh seafood to boiled peanuts, the food choices on the water make boating in Destin a unique experience!

Reason 19, reduce stress, is reason enough for me to rent a boat! It is so relaxing to be out on the water, soaking up the sun. I also like how you mention that being on the water gives you a new perspective of the are. I think I’ll have to add ‘rent a boat’ to my list of summer activities this year.

Can you tell me how things r looking after Sally. We will be up there on vacation the first week of October. And was just wondering, sense the house we rented is not willing to give us a refund, says that there is not that much damage. Don’t want to be stuck in a house for a week, I can do that at home.
Very little damage from Sally. You should be 100% fine by October. Hope that helps.
